NOTES * A chevalier? Haji is a chevalier, that is a first generation chiropteran (this universe's version of a vampire), sired directly from a vampire Queen. Chevaliers are immortal beings who feed on blood to survive and access their abilities: they are incredibly fast and strong, they can regenerate any wound and can transform into their monster selves -with skin like metal and claws sharp as diamonds. It is their biological destiny to protect their Queen at all costs, but platonically, as a mating between a Queen and her own chevalier is sterile. This does not stop chevaliers from sleeping with their Queens, or Haji from protecting his out of the love he felt for her when he was human. ** Chevaliers are nearly immortal. They can only be killed by introducing the blood of the opposing Queen into their system through swallowing or open wounds.
